Not so fast!

May 30, 2012 · by Sean

She will take over the world.

I love her, but can I take her to see Justin Bieber? If so, I will wear flannel and combat boots in silent rebellion.

In the past month, Ava has learned to ride her bike (again, with training wheels), mastered the art of a two-wheeled scooter, had another loose tooth and graduated from pre-K. And she’s grown at least six inches. At least.

When people say they grow up so fast, they really do grow up that fast. I had no idea.

With kindergarten looming imminently on the horizon, I’m a bit freaked out. Not just because of all of this growing up and whatnot, but mostly because now she wants to go see Justin Bieber.

How the hell does she even know who that dude even is? What kind of pre-k is she going to? Does she not realize how much he looks like a chick? So many questions …

Ugh.

The worst part is that she wants to go to his concert here in Houston in October. First off, how does a five year old even know that Justin Bieber will be in Houston in October? Second, what do I have to do to convince my husband to take her? So many questions …

I mean, I’m going to a Nickleback concert with a friend on Saturday. Isn’t that sacrifice enough? Kurt Cobain is probably having a mini-mosh pit in his grave right now.

I didn’t get to see a “real” concert until I was in my 20s. Kara has only been to concerts at the rodeo, (Black Eyed Peas, Kid Rock, etc) which are still good. So its okay for her to not see “bieber” in Oct. and it will help her appreciate the other concerts she will eventually see. Besides, who wants to sit through a couple of hours listening to thousands of 13 year olds squealing?

Funny post. I got out of the Bieber concert by working. Whitney got to take a friend instead. Win win in my opinion. I don’t think I could of handled all the girls screaming.
Nickleback…ouch. That’s just as bad. You’re a better friend than me.
