Wow. Blissdom 2013 is so close I can feel it. Just 15 more days until it all goes down up there in Grapevine. Honestly, I can’t wait, but I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t nervous. I mean, 400+ awesome chicks all in one place? I’m already feeling inadequate. Probably the one thing I’m most nervous about is that I haven’t met a single attendee in person. Ok, I might have met one or two bloggers at the only Houston bloggers meet up I could attend. But besides that, I’m going in blind. So while I may not know any of you, here’s your chance to learn 15 things about me. Maybe. Some are true, some aren’t.

{The answers are at the bottom, but don’t cheat.}

  1. I’ve never lived outside of Texas.
  2. Before I graduated from High School, I moved more than 30 times.
  3. I’ve been married three times.
  4. I got married in Las Vegas.
  5. I once held a secret security clearance.
  6. Over the past 14 years, I held 11 different jobs.
  7. Of those 14 years, I worked at NASA for 12.
  8. I used to train astronauts on medical hardware for the International Space Station.
  9. I’m terribly shy.
  10. I’m a 36DDD.
  11. I’ve thrown up 37 times in 3 hours.
  12. I wrote a children’s book about space.
  13. When I was a teenager, I surfed almost daily.
  14. I’m a statuesque 5’9” tall.
  15. I once ate a chicken with my hands at Oktoberfest in Munich.

So, what do you think? Which is True or False? Scroll down for the answers.

I also own more than 30 cardigans. It's an addiction. I'm not ashamed.

  1. False – I’ve lived in California (3 months), Colorado (3.5 years), New Mexico (5 months)
  2. True – my Dad was a crazy hippie wanna-be who bored easily. We moved a lot.
  3. False – Twice, but the first time was just for practice.
  4. True – We got married at the Treasure Island in 1997. It was 117F that day!
  5. True – In the Air Force, I had a secret clearance. Just to get to my desk I had to show my badge at the gate, do a retina scan, get weighed, enter a PIN code, and swipe my badge through two more doors. All before I could sit down to work.
  6. True – like my dad, I bore easily.
  7. True – I’ve always been a space geek. After the Air Force I sold my soul to NASA.
  8. True – Totally random job, but yes, I did train astronauts on how to use the medical hardware on the space station. I also taught them where the anti-psychotic drugs and pregnancy tests were located. Because, you never know…
  9. Hahahaha!
  10. It was true 13 years ago. I had a breast reduction when I was 20. The best decision I have ever made in my entire life. Seriously.
  11. True – For that astronaut instructor gig, I had to fly on a zero gravity plane so I could learn how to do CPR in microgravity. I puked my brains out for 37 of 44 parabolas.
  12. True – Did this for my master’s degree. One day I will actually show it to the world.
  13. True – Growing up on the Texas coast, I loved surfing culture. My heroes were Laird Hamilton, Kelly Slater, Tom Curren, Occhy, Wendy Botha and Lisa Andersen. I wanted to travel the world chasing waves.
  14. False – If I do yoga for two months straight, stand up tall and wear a ½” heel, I’m at least 5’1”.
  15. True – Oktoberfest is amazing. I drank warm beer out of mugs that I could swim in. I ate chicken with my bare hands. I danced with strangers and sang along to songs I didn’t know. One of the most incredible experiences I’ve ever had.

So there you have it. Now you know some trivial things about me. If you are headed to Blissdom, we will now have some fun conversation starters. Can’t wait!
