Most days, are you too busy to pee?
Do you find yourself doing things for everyone else, but yourself?
Do your kids have a bazillion projects and tons of homework and after school activities?
Do you have trouble fitting in time to make dinner, constantly fight the battle of the bulge and, heaven forbid – sexy times?
If you answered yes to most (or all!) of these, then I officially grant you permission to buy regular old Valentine’s cards for your kids’ parties at school.
Sure, Pinterest has some amazing pictures of delicately made from scratch cards. And they belong right there. On Pinterest. Trust me, your Kindergartner’s class won’t give two shits if you tore their cards out of a perforated sheet or meticulously cut each one with a Cricut and bedazzled it with jewels. Just throw some candy in the mix and you are good to go.
And if you feel guilty about not making hand made Valentine’s this year, how about taking pictures of you and your kid stuffing envelopes with store-bought ones instead? Post those on Pinterest and show the world that quality time with your kids doesn’t have to involve impossibly high standards of perfection.
Now, hurry off to Walgreen’s before the last box of Justin Bieber Valentine’s cards are gone.
