Texas springtime traditions and contraband

Apr 14, 2011 · by Sean

My sweet Angel - wondering if the cops will come because I picked a bluebonnet.

If you are from Texas, or got here as fast as you could, you know all about the tradition of bluebonnet pictures. Last weekend, we took our little monkey out to the Round Top-Warrenton antique festival to shop a bit and snap some pictures.

This year went much better than last year. I don’t remember much from that day except that the husband was especially unruly and Ava was feeling it. She cried, pouted and hid her face in every shot.

I think she did a bang-up job with this trip! My baby’s all grown up. And she yelled at me for picking a bluebonnet. They are sacred here in Texas, you know.

She hid the contraband in her new purse.

If I look this innocent, will the cops arrest me, mommy?

See, the cops won't know there's a stolen flower in here.

If all else fails, at least you left my tennis shoes on me!

We decided to leave the flower there. No need for jail time in Warrenton. I don't even think they have a jail...

Hi Jessica! Thanks! She didn’t cooperate for long. I must have taken 300 pictures that day and these are all that were worth showing anyone. Ha!!

Ooooo these are such beautiful pictures! I’m in NC, far from Texas, so these pics are as close as I will get.

Hi! I’m Rachel, by the way! Visiting from the UBP (a little late… so many blogs!). Hope you’ll come visit me at http://www.upperbottom.com and @upperbottom (Twitter).

    Cheers and happy spring!
