My annual hairstyle dilemma (or fun with Photoshop)

Mar 12, 2013 · by Sean

In keeping with my pre-Blissdom panicky good times, tomorrow I’m getting my hair done. Or did. Depends on who you are and where you’re from. Either way, this is something I put off, and off, and off, for no good reason other than laziness. And I’m cheap. But I will drop a fat wad on a good hair cut and color or highlight…

The problem is that I haven’t had my hair done since last July, I think. I can’t really remember. It might have been September. I now have about 6” of growth. If I was smart, I’d keep it as is because I’m sort of rocking that whole ombre hair trend. Who knew that the fashion world would finally make laziness trendy?

But, with that 6” of growth, while trendy, comes an awful lot of gray. I’ve been about 30% gray for about 8-9 years now. One day I’ll rock it like Kelly Osborne or Paula Deen, just not now. And tomorrow I’m scheduled for an appointment to spend a pretty penny so I’m fully prepared for a whole new look. I just can’t figure out what I should do. That, my friends, is why I spent the better part of two hours last night Photoshopping my face on various celebrities’ heads. Who hasn’t done that before? You tell me which color or cut looks best.

blondfinal

Here I am with Giselle’s hair. It looks a lot like what I already have, minus the gray and with an assload more shine. And she brushed it. Or hired someone to do that. I do neither of those things.

brunette2

The Courtney Cox brunette – with less Botox as you can see from the forehead wrinkles.
And I did some weird Photoshop mirror tool thing so the bottom is choppy.

carrie-underwood

The Carrie Underwood. We both think guys who play hockey are hot.
That’s pretty much where the similarities end.

platinumblond

The Anna Faris. We’ve both been married twice. Pretty much all we have in common.
I think this is too platinum. Think of the maintenance.
But – if the ombre things sticks around I could totally own that trend in no time.

red

Some random chick from a hair magazine. Honestly, this looks exactly like my mother-in-law.
I can safely say that this one would be a no-go if I ever wanted sexy times with Chuck again.

thiessen-final

And finally, the Tiffani Thiessen. I’ve been a fan since she was stringing Zack along at Bayshore High.
I love her rocker chick style and this cut and color are pretty fantastic.
(This was Chuck’s pick. I doubt it has anything to do with his adolescent lust for Kelly Kapowski here)

So what’s the verdict? Blonde, platinum, red or brunette? Or do you think I’m just a vain freak now? Really, these pre-Blissdom jitters have got me all bat shit crazy.
