Hi. Remember me? I’m Sean. I blog here. Well, not since April 22, but I do own this space. I’ve had every intention of pushing out content over the past month. Hell, I’ve even got three unfinished drafts. But that’s what they remain – unfinished. It’s been a very busy month. I guess not any more busy than most, but enough that I’m struggling to do anything, but get up, run, go to work, come home, eat and sleep.
Aside from the crazy that is my life, I’m finding myself at a roadblock when it comes to hitting publish lately. I think I’ve succumbed to advice overload.
Blog every day!
Only blog when you have something to say!
But you should say something every day!
Don’t forget to make it worthwhile!
Oh, and pictures! Pictures have to be awesome.
Make sure your pictures are pinnable.
And post them to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, yadda yadda yadda…
Don’t put your kid’s name on there.
But wait – put your kid’s name and picture because it makes you authentic!
Share your soul.
Don’t share too much!
Tug at their heartstrings – that’s what people want!
Be funny! Everyone loves funny shit.
OMG. As someone who has a hard enough time committing to and finishing anything, this crap is paralyzing. So now, I’ve just resorted to venting my frustration. There you have it. I’m officially annoyed with the rampant and often competing advice from the blogging community.
I’m going to write what I want when I want regardless. And it may be stupid crap about my favorite space pen or deep thoughts by Sean Wilson. It’s just a mixed bag, baby!
